the Nomadian
global perspectives in comparative literature, visual arts, music & history of ideas
academic, creative & personal website by Prof. Ewa A. Łukaszyk
in the Garden of Aesthetic Abundance
This website has been created not simply to showcase my work, but also to express and propagate my vital philosophy of Aesthetic Abundance. The aspiration of Aesthetic Abundance is something more encompassing than any academic or research strategy; it is a way of living in the World, and living fully, under the regime of radical aesthetic pluralism, in the post-lapsarian Garden of human cultures, the only paradise that remains. Aesthetic Abundance is available to all people, even those living in material scarcity. It is the choice, under the condition of globalisation, to consume the best and to search, and search relentlessly, for the best among cultures. It is the vital philosophy of experiencing and savouring radical pluralism as a call for contradiction and coexistence.
The Nomadian lives her abundant intellectual life on the road and of the road, in the regime of work-in-progress, impermanence and improvement. It is a realm of immaterial conquest, non-hegemonic appropriation, absolute, universal, yet refined voracity. The Nomadian steps lightly, although unstoppably, and gathers without destruction.
